Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

FORD, JOE. Private. No 77928. 1/6th Battalion Durham Light Infantry. Born Newtown. Son of Private William Ford, 8 Dyson Hill, Honley. (His father served in the army for the duration of the war). Attended Honley Primitive Methodist Chapel. Employed at Rock Mills. Enlisted 1917. Embarked for France in January, 1918. Killed in action, 9.4.1918, aged 19 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
