VARLEY, JAMES W., MM. Lance Sergeant. No 238031. 1/7th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Marsden. Son of Luke and Agnes Varley, 28 Plains, Marsden. Husband of Charlotte Ann Varley, Oliver Lane, Marsden. Died at home of pneumonia on 6.5.1919, aged 26 years. Buried St. BARTHOLOMEW'S CHURCHYARD, MARSDEN. Grave location:- SW, 32, 1.

Brother of Lance Sergeant JOE VARLEY killed in action, 20.9.1915.
