The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

PEARSON, JAMES. Private. No 29882. 2nd Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. Born Green Street, St. John's Road, Huddersfield, 31.10.1891. Son of Thomas and Martha Pearson, 10 Rose Street, Turnbridge, Huddersfield. Educated Thomas Street Council School. Married. Lived Parkhead, Holmfirth. Employed as a teamer by Messrs Alfred Crowther Limited, plumber and glazier, Northumberland Street, Huddersfield. Married. Enlisted 10.6.1916. Died of gunshot wounds to the abdomen, Salonika, 5.6.1917, aged 25 years. Buried STRUMA MILITARY CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 9, Row B, Grave 6.
