- HOLMES, JAMES. Driver. No 27047. 15th Divisional Ammunition Column, Royal Field Artillery. Born Huddersfield. Son of Arthur Holmes (who was also serving in France). Lived with his aunt, Mrs Knott, 7 Jowett's Court, off Manchester Street, Huddersfield. Educated Paddock Church of England School. Employed by Messrs C. and J. Hirst of Longwood. Killed in action, 17.7.1917, aged 22 years. Buried BRANDHOEK MILITARY CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 1, Row M, Grave 25.
