- DAWSON, JAMES. Sergeant. No 203641. 'A' Company, 1/5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Huddersfield 3.1.1889. Educated at Huddersfield Parish Church Schools. Employed as a tram conductor by Huddersfield Corporation Tramways Department. Married. Living at Longley Farm, Longley, Huddersfield. Enlisted 4.8.1914. Killed in action at Passchendaele, 27.11.1917. Has no known grave. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
