The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

AINLEY, JOCK. Private. No 235329. 1/7th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Son of the late Mr Sam Ainley and Mrs Joe Bower (formerly Ainley), 20 Bankfield Terrace, Outcote Bank, Huddersfield. Worked at Messrs Elliott, Hallas and Sons Limited, Kirkgate. Killed in action, 1.11.1918, aged 21 years. Buried in FAMARS COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION. Grave Location:- Grave 25.
ROH:- Huddersfield Drill Hall.
