The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

MORTIMER, IVAN ARTHUR. Private. No 71529 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters. Formerly No 31652 North Staffordshire Regiment. Born Meltham. Son of John and Clara Mortimer, Clarke Lane, Meltham. Employed by the Meltham Cooperative Society. Was assistant secretary of the Meltham Wesleyan Sunday School. Enlisted November 1916. Killed in action, 3.8.1917, aged 19 years. Buried NEW IRISH FARM CEMETERY, St. JEAN-LES-YPRES. Grave location:- Plot 9, Row B, Grave 14.
