This was clothier and woolsorter Abraham Mellor and his wife Letitia (née Shannon) who married on 29 September 1847 at Lancaster. Abraham died on 26 December 1854, aged 46, and Letitia died on 20 November 1858, aged 38. Both reportedly passed away after long or severe illnesses. Their daughter, Sarah Ann Mellor then lived with relatives, including her uncle, music teacher Richard Mellor of Trinity Street, before marrying widower Roland Antill in 1889.
