The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WOMERSLEY, IDO. Private. No 32322. 10th Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment. Born New Mill, Holmfirth. Son of Mr and Mrs Albert Womersley, 'The Junction Inn', Syke Bottom, New Mill. Educated New Mill National School and Snowgate Head Sunday School. Employed as a miner by Messrs Tinker Brothers at Woodpit Colliery. Enlisted 16.12.1916. Killed in action, 15.7.1917, aged 19 years. Buried POND FARM CEMETERY, WULVERGHEM, BELGIUM. Grave location:- Row N, Grave 5.
ROH:- New Mill Working Men's Club; Fulstone War Memorial; memorial in Christ Church Churchyard, New Mill.
