Hull and Huddersfield Railway (1879)

The Hull & Huddersfield Railway was a tentative scheme that was initially promoted in 1879 and was supported by committees in both locations.

By November 1879, the Hull committee had agreed to postpone their plans for the eastern section of the line, due it competing with the proposed Hull & Barnsley Railway.[1] The latter scheme was passed by Parliament the following year, leading to the formation of the Hull, Barnsley & West Riding Junction Railway & Dock Company.

Huddersfield & Nostell Railway

The Hull & Huddersfield Railway's replacement proposal was initially titled the Huddersfield & Nostell Railway, but was renamed the Huddersfield South & East Junction Railway in December 1879.
