THE LINTHWAITE MURDER.

REMOVAL OF STOCKWELL'S MOTHER TO THE ASYLUM.

Fresh interest will be aroused in this case in view of the approaching trial of James Stockwell for the murder of Catherine Dennis, at the Ivy Hotel, Linthwaite, on account of his mother's removal to the Wadsley Asylum. Since the arrest and preliminary investigation of her son before the magistrates she has been "queer" at times, but not until last week were there are actual signs of the family weakness — insanity. She was conveyed to the asylum on Saturday afternoon, by Mr. Haddin Ellam, receiving officer for No. 1 district of the Huddersfield Union.
