"Votes for Women."
Under the auspices of the Women's Social and Political Union a meeting of an interesting character took place in the Mechanics' Hall, Longwood, on Saturday last. Miss Mabel Priestley, of Huddersfield, ably presided. An earnest and eloquent address in favour of women's suffrage was given by Miss Adela Pankhurst. To provide variety in the evening's proceedings Misses Pearson and Nora Marshall gave pianoforte solos, and Mrs. Butler gave a creditable rendering of a number of solos. Refreshments were provided.
