Lecture.
On Monday evening, a lecture was given in the large room of the Carlile Institute, Meltham, by Mrs. C. J. Brook, of Harewood Lodge. The subject of the lecture was "Cairo," the manners, customs, &c., of the place being portrayed in a very excellent manner. The lecture was illustrated by a magic lantern, the various scenes being thrown on the screen by Mr. Tunstall. There was a large attendance, and the audience were greatly pleased with the lecture.
