Lecture.

A lecture was given in the large hall, Carlile Institute, on Monday evening last, by Mr. J. Howard Reed, F.R.G.S., Manchester. Mr. W. Tunstall occupied the chair. The subject was "From England to Japan, by way of Gibraltar, Mediterranean, Suez Canal, and the Straits of Malacca." Mr. W.C. Armitage ably managed the lantern. Votes of thanks to the lecturer and chairman closed a very interesting and instructive lecture.
