Municipal Elections.

Meetings have been held in several parts of the borough, during the past few days, to select suitable men to represent the wards in the town council. The meetings, we understand, have been of a preliminary character, and the names of the chosen gentlemen will, prior to being finally brought before the ratepayers, be subjected to committees for approval. Last evening, private meetings were held at the Pack Horse Hotel, Queen Hotel, and the Fox and Grapes Inn, Bradford Road. At the Queen Hotel, a list of names from which the gentlemen were to be selected was submitted by the executive, and it was as follows:— Messrs. W. Lidster, D. Sykes, C. Hirst, C. H. Jones, J. Woodhead, Joel Denham, W. Hawkins, R. Jackson, J. Jordan, J. Eastwood, S. Mitchell, W. Bradley, James Shaw, and Oates Bairstow.
