Hubert Ellis (1887-1917)

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

ELLIS, HUBERT. Private. No CH/1452 (S) Royal Marine Light Infantry. 1st Royal Marine Battalion Royal Naval Division. Born Flatts 7.4.1887. Fourth son of Charles Ewart and Hannah Ellis, 13 Lower Park, Berry Brow. Educated Farnley Tyas School. Attended the Spiritualist Church in St. Peter's Street, Huddersfield. Employed as a spinner at Priestroyd Mills. Enlisted 1915. Reported wounded and missing, 28.4.1917. Has no known grave. Commemorated ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
ROH:- St. Stephen's Church, Rashcliffe.
Brother of Private WESTON ELLIS who died of wounds, 15.2.1916.
