Honley Feast (1878)

The 1878 Honley Feast took place between Sunday 22 September and Wednesday 25 September.

The Leeds Times (28/Sep/1878) contained the following summary:

Honley Feast, which is kept up more in the Lockwood district of Huddersfield than in Honley, has been celebrated during the early part of the week, and in spite of the condition of trade there has been a good deal of merrymaking. Shows, stalls, and the customary concomitants of a fair made it lively for visitors, who, however, were very orderly, and there was less drunkenness than usual. On Saturday and Monday there were trips, which were well patronised.
