Hilton Dyson (c.1889-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

DYSON, HILTON. Private. No 42643. 8th Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment. Formerly No 29/148 Northumberland Fusiliers. Born Slaithwaite. Only son of Mr J. Dyson, 31 Bridge Street, Slaithwaite. Employed in the grocery department at the Junction House Cooperative Society. Was a member of the Slaithwaite Conservative Club. Enlisted June 1916. Embarked for France 8.1.1917. Killed in action, 19.10.1917, aged 28 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
