Herbert William Sharp (c.1893-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

SHARP, HERBERT WILLIAM. Private. No PO/1441 (S). Royal Marine Light Infantry, 2nd Royal Marine Battalion, Royal Naval Division. Son of Mr and Mrs William Sharpe, 45 Lees Lodge, Dalton Bank Road, Kirkheaton. Employed as a presser by Messrs T. and H. Blamires Limited, Leeds Road, Huddersfield. Enlisted February 1916. Embarked for France in November, 1916. Died of wounds at No 4 Casualty Clearing Station, 3.2.1917, aged 23. Buried VARENNES MILITARY CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 1, Row H, Grave 23.
