The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- LAW, HERBERT. Private. No 52779. 8th Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment. Born Ramsden Wood Road, Todmorden. Son of Edgar and Esther Law, 17 Bradford Road, Huddersfield. Educated Thomas Street Council School. Employed as a tailor by Mr Thomas Wilson of Station Street, Huddersfield. Single. Enlisted March 1917. Wounded at Epernay, on 30.5.1918. Treated at the Aubon Moet Hospital, Epernay. Died of wounds, 31.5.1918, aged 19 years. Buried TERLINCTHUN BRITISH CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 7, Row AC, Grave 17.
