Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

GREENHOW, HERBERT. Private. No 241386. 5/6th Battalion The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). Born Newsome, Huddersfield. Attended Newsome Church. Husband of Ruth Greenhow, 9 Chapel Street, Scapegoat Hill, Golcar, and father of six children. Prior to enlistment, was employed as a weaver by Messrs Ben Hall and Sons, of Milnsbridge. Enlisted 11.9.1916. Embarked for France in January, 1917. Killed in action, 14.4.1917, aged 32 years. Buried HENINEL CROISILLES ROAD CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 1, Row C, Grave 3.
