Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

STONEY, HERBERT ARTHUR. Private. No 40609. 8th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. Born Sheepridge, Huddersfield. Son of Arthur and Sarah Stoney, 61 Kilner Bank, Moldgreen, Huddersfield. Employed at Messrs Robson's dyeworks at Dalton. Attended Moldgreen United Methodist Church. Was a member of Moldgreen Liberal Club. Enlisted under the Derby scheme and embarked for France on 30.9.1916. Killed in action, 3.1.1917, aged 21 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
