Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

CASTLE, HENRY WILMOTT. Private. Deal/4211(S) Royal Marine Medical Unit, Royal Naval Division. Born Glasgow 27.11.1895. Son of the Rev Thomas Brain and Letitia B. Castle. Educated at Kingswood School (for sons of Wesleyan Ministers, Bath). Left Huddersfield as a child. At the time of enlistment, was living in Oldham. Employed in the cotton industry in Manchester. Enlisted 14.11.1914. Killed in action, 4.1.1917 by a German shell while trying to save a wounded German Officer. Buried St. JULIEN DRESSING STATIONCEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 3, Row B, Grave 28.
