The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

JONES, HENRY. Private. No 59615. Machine Gun Corps. Formerly No 37040 Durham Light Infantry. Born Llanelly Hill, Brecon, South Wales. Enlisted Halifax. Lived Paddock, Huddersfield. Drowned at sea when the Cunard Steamship 'Ivernia' was sunk by a U- boat.in the Mediterranean on 1.1.1917. Has no known grave. Commemorated MIKRA MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING, SALONICA.
