Harry Wood (c.1898-1918)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922
The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- WOOD, HARRY. Ordinary Seaman. No J/74600. Royal Navy. HMS Louvain. Son of Matthew Henry Wood of Dunford Bridge, Holmfirth. Attended Townhead School. Employed by Mrs Jonas Wagstaffe, stone merchant. Enlisted 18.7.1917. After undergoing training he left Devonport on 1.1.1918. Killed in action involving a submarine in the Mediterrean on 20.1.1918. He was 19 years of age. Has no known grave. Commemorated PLYMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
