The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- WOOD, HARRY. Private. No 203037. 1/4th Battalion King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Born Marsden. Son of Abel and Betsy Wood, 8 Sandhurst Cottages, Marsden. Employed as a scourer at Crimble Mills, Slaithwaite. Was a member of the Marsden Conservative Club. Attended Marsden Parish Church. Reported missing, presumed killed, 10.10.1917, aged 22 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
