Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

SHIRTCLIFFE, HARRY. Rifleman. No B/203488 1st Battalion The Rifle Brigade. Formerly No C/7763 King's Royal Rifle Corps. Born Dalton 14.3.1889. Son of James and Elizabeth Shirtcliffe, 51 Fleming House Lane, Dalton, Huddersfield. Educated Lepton Board School. Employed as a teamer by Messrs Rhodes and Brierley, Kirkheaton. Attended St. John's Parish Church, Kirkheaton. Single. Enlisted 19.11.1915. Killed in action near Combles on 18.2.1917, aged 26 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
