Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

MILNES, HARRY. Lance Corporal. No 29/633. 12th/13th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. (Machine gun section). Born Huddersfield. Youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs George Milnes. Lived with his sister at 63 Leymoor Road, Golcar. Employed in the finishing department at Messrs C. and J. Hirst and Sons Limited, Longwood. Attended Golcar Baptist Church. Enlisted May 1916. Embarked for France in August, 1916. Killed in action at Passchendaele, 4.10.1917, aged 28 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
