Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HIRST, HARRY. Private. No 37962. 2nd Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment. Youngest son of Mr Wyndham Hirst, 2 Barlboro Place, Scar Lane, Milnsbridge. Educated Crow Lane Board School, Milnsbridge. Had attended the Milnsbridge Baptist Church and Sunday School and also Scapegoat Hill Baptist Chapel. Employed as a beamer by Messrs Whitwam and Company, Ramsden Mill, Linthwaite. Enlisted June 1916. Embarked for France in September, 1916. Killed in action, 21.3.1918, aged 25 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
