The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

BATTYE, HARRISON. Private. Army Service Corps. (Motor Transport). Born Long Lane, Dalton 16.2.1888. Son of Tom and Emma Battye, 42 Springwood Street, Milnsbridge. Educated at St. Paul's Church School. Employed as a motor driver. Married. Enlisted February 1915. Died at home, 42 Springwood Street, from the effects of gas poisoning, 10.12.1920. Buried EDGERTON CEMETERY, HUDDERSFIELD.
Brother of Private ALBERT EDWARD BATTYE, killed in action, 13.5.1915.
