Harold Wood (1891-1918)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WOOD, HAROLD. Private. No 67098. 29th Company, Machine Gun Corps. Formerly No 36174 York and Lancaster Regiment. Born East Street, Rastrick, 6.12.1891. Son of the late William and of Alice Wood, 17 Briar Lane, Birchencliffe, Huddersfield. Educated Lindley Church of England School. Employed as a labourer by Mr E. S. Dyson, plumber, of Lindley. Single. Enlisted September 1915. Died of wounds, 30.9.1918, aged 26 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
