Harold Watthews (c.1897-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922
The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- WATTHEWS, HAROLD. Lieutenant. 3rd, attached 10th, Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Third son of Doctor Herbert and Mrs Watthews of Hollybank, Holmfirth. Attended Lane Congregational Church. Educated Holmfirth Secondary School and George Watson's College, Edinburgh, where he was studying for the medical profession. Was a member of the Officers' Training Corps whilst at college. Embarked for France in February, 1917. Killed in action, 8.6.1917, aged 19 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated MENIN GATE MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
