Harold Thewlis (c.1900-1918)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

THEWLIS, HAROLD. Private. No 59941. 'D' Company, 14th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment. Born Meltham. Son of Arthur and Annie Elizabeth Thewlis, 12 Sunny View, Deighton Road, Huddersfield. Employed by Messrs J. F. Siddal and Company, Thomas Street, Huddersfield. Enlisted in December 1917. Embarked for France in August, 1918. Died of illness at No 56 General Hospital on 12.9.1918, aged 18 years. Buried ETAPLES MILITARY CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 66, Row G, Grave 30.
