Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

SYKES, HAROLD. Private. No 14296. 8th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Huddersfield. Son of Albert Sykes, Cross Grove Street, Huddersfield. Husband of Catherine Sykes, (later O' Toole), 23 Castlegate, Huddersfield. Employed by Robert Dempster Limited, Elland. Killed in action in the assault on Tekke Tepe Ridge, Suvla, Gallipoli, on 9.8.1915, aged 28. Has no known grave. Commemorated HELLES MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
