Harold Schofield Hanson (c.1893-1916)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922
The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- HANSON, HAROLD SCHOFIELD. Private. No 19321. 10th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Milnsbridge. Youngest son of Joe and Mary Hannah Hanson, 106 Scar Lane, Milnsbridge. Attended Golcar Parish Church and Sunday School. Was a member of Golcar Conservative Club and the Golcar Lily Cycling Club. Employed by Messrs John Lockwood and Sons Limited, Milnsbridge. Enlisted February, 1916, and embarked for France 13 weeks later. On 14.11.1916, he was wounded by shrapnel in the right arm. He underwent an operation at Bolton Infirmary but died on Sunday, 24.12.1916, aged 23 years. Buried with full military honours in St. JOHN'S CHURCHYARD, GOLCAR. Grave location:- G, south of Church, 22.
