The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

NEWSOME, HAROLD. Private. No 805. 21st Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment. Born Netherton, Huddersfield. Son of Joseph and Martha Ann Newsome, Scotgate Bottom, Netherton. Enlisted February 1916. Killed by a shell on 30.3.1917, aged 25 years. Buried FAUBOURG D' AMIENS CEMETERY, ARRAS. Grave location:- Plot 2, Row M, Grave 3.
ROH:- South Crosland and Netherton War Memorial.
