Harold Bower (c.1883-1917)

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- BOWER, HAROLD. Private. No 39658. 8th Battalion King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Born Linthwaite. Husband of Ada Bower. Lived High House Green, Linthwaite. Attended Holthead General Sunday School. Employed as a weaver by Messrs Charles Lockwood and Sons, Blackrock Mills, Linthwaite. Enlisted 13.9.1916 and trained at North Ferriby. Embarked for France, 13.12.1916. Killed in action, 7.6.1917, aged 33 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated on the MENIN GATE MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
