The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

APPLEYARD, HAROLD. Private. No 242661. 1/6th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment. Son of William and Sarah Appleyard of Marsh. Enlisted Leeds. Killed in action, 9.10.17, aged 24 Buried in TYNE COT CEMETERY, PASSCHENDAELE. Grave Location:- Plot 28, Row B, Grave 16.
