Halifax Evening Courier (11/May/1927) - Collection of Insects

The following is a transcription of a historic newspaper article and may contain occasional errors. If the article was published prior to 1 June 1957, then the text is likely in the Public Domain.

Upon the death some months ago of Mr. G. T. Porritt, of Huddersfield, mention was made of his unique collection of insects, and as he was a well-known gentleman in scientific circles both in Halifax and all over the country, further reference to the collection, now that it has been acquired for the town of Huddersfield, is appropriate. An appeal was made for £1,000 to purchase it for the Tolson Memorial Museum, and the money has been obtained.
