The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

GIBSON, GLADSTONE. Lance Corporal. No 2865. 1/5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born High Hoyland. Son of Alma and Elizabeth Gibson, of Clayton West. A shell fell on his dugout on 3.7.1916 and he was killed instantly, he was 26 years old. Buried CONNAUGHT CEMETERY, THIEPVAL. Grave location:- Plot 7, Row J, Grave 4.
