Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WILSON, GILBERT. Private. No 50217. 2/5th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment. Born Lowergate, Longwood, Huddersfield, 21.8.1887. Son of Harry and Elizabeth Wilson, 50 Broomfield Road, Marsh. Educated Paddock Council School. Employed by Messrs J Hopkinson and Company Limited of Birkby. Attended Queen Street Chapel. Husband of Edith Wilson, 334 Bradford Road North, Huddersfield. Enlisted 20.12.1916. Reported missing, presumed killed, on 22.11.1917 during the Battle of Cambrai, aged 30. Has no known grave. Commemorated CAMBRAI MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
