Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

THORNTON, GILBERT KAYE. Private. No 68293. 'E' Company, 3rd Battalion King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Born Hall Bower, Huddersfield, 3.3.1896. Son of William Robert and Ann Thornton, 31 Hall Bower, Huddersfield. Educated Berry Brow Council School and Huddersfield Technical College. Employed as an assistant in maker department. Single. Enlisted 3.10.1918. Died of pneumonia, 27.10.1918, at Patrington Hospital. He was 22 years of age. Buried ALMONDBURY CEMETERY, HUDDERSFIELD. Grave location:- 6, 'C', 20.
