Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WILLIAMSON, GEORGE. Private. No 38456. 15th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment (1st Leeds Pals). Born Lower Castle Hill, Almondbury, Huddersfield, 19.2.1884. Son of Harriet Williamson, 2 Bank Top, Lowerhouses Lane, Almondbury. Educated Lowerhouses Church of England School. Was in business on his own account as a stationer and newsagent at 10 Somerset Bridge, Moldgreen. Single. Enlisted October 1916. Killed in action on 3.5.1917 at Gavrelle during the Battle of Arras. Has no known grave. Commemorated ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
