The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

LOVELL, GEORGE WILLIAM. Private. No 15035. 9th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Leeds 10.11.1894. Educated Hillhouse Board School. Employed as a tailor's cutter. Lived 6 Clara Street, Fartown. Single. Enlisted December 1914. Killed in action near Ypres, Belgium, 19.12.1915, aged 22 years. Buried MENIN ROAD SOUTH MILITARY CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 3, Row E, Grave 7.
ROH:- Great Northern Street Congregational Chapel; Fartown and Birkby War Memorial.
