Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

BARKER, GEORGE WHITWELL. Private. No 23443. 8th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Linthwaite. Husband of Mabel Barker, 18 Pogg Hall, Upper Clough, Linthwaite. Employed as a weaver by Messrs George Mallinson and Sons Limited. Was a member of the Linthwaite Cricket Club. Killed in action, 28.8.1917, aged 31 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated on the TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
