Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

POWNALL, GEORGE. Private. No 362. 1/7th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Son of Mr Alfred Pownall, 127 Edgefield Terrace, Milnsbridge. Employed by Messrs John Crowther and Sons (Union Mills), Milnsbridge. Died of wounds sustained during the Battle of the Somme on 12.7.1916, aged 25 years. Buried AVELUY WOOD (LANCASHIRE DUMP) CEMETERY. Grave location:- Special Memorial A 3.
