The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

PICKARD, GEORGE. Sergeant Pilot. No 23959. 11th Squadron Royal Flying Corps. Born Moldgreen. Son of George R. and Florence L. Pickard, 1 Silver Street, Moldgreen, Huddersfield. Educated Christ Church and Higher Grade Schools. Employed as a grocer and provision merchant at 56/58 South Street, Huddersfield. Sang in the Huddersfield Parish Church choir. Killed in action, 25.1.1918, aged 24 years. Buried WARLINCOURT HALTE BRITISH CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 11. Row B. Grave 14.
