George Netherwood and Sons were alcohol merchants and brewers of Lindley, with a brewery at Weather Hill.

The business was established by farmer and brewer George Netherwood (1805-1868).

George's son Ellis worked as a master brewer for the firm. On Saturday 1 September 1883, he was found dead in one of the brewery's vats, apparently after having been overcome by the fermentation fumes.[1]

The business and its assets were sold as a going concern in May 1899.[2]
