- MUDD, GEORGE. Private. No 38140. 5th Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment. Born Leicester 20.6.1881. Educated Belgrave National School, Leicester. Worked on his own account as a greengrocer. Lived 8 Lee and Burley's Yard, Leeds Road, Huddersfield. Married, with four children. Enlisted 20.9.1916. Killed in action on the Chemin-de-Dames, 27.5.1918. Has no known grave. Commemorated SOISSONS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
