The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

MARTIN, GEORGE. Company Quartermaster Sergeant. Army Ordnance Corps. Born Bacup, Lancashire, 24.8.1883. Educated Central Higher Grade School, Leeds. Employed as a police sergeant. Married. Lived 3 College Street East, Crosland Moor, Huddersfield. Enlisted as a Private in the A.S.C. on 20.6.1915. Died at home, 3 College Street East, Crosland Moor, on 26.1.1920.
ROH:- St. Barnabas Church, Crosland Moor.
